...Serving Former Prisoners and their Families

  the need...

Each year over 600,000 men and women are released from

         state and federal prisons.

Because of stricter sentencing laws and budget cuts, these

individuals will typically have been incarcerated longer, be less

prepared for life outside of prison, and receive less reentry

  assistance than in the past.

When released, former prisoners face huge barriers that hinder a

smooth reentry into society. Their immediate needs include

housing, jobs, food and clothing, transportation, spiritual

  counseling,and financial guidance.

For many former offenders these needs are not being met.

The U.S. Department of Justice reports that 67% of these

former prisoners will be rearrested within 3 years.

     our response...

FreedomWorks’ mission is to provide reentry support by

building caring relationships with former prisoners and their

families and by providing balanced programs and services to

help meet their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs.

Our vision involves two components: Freedom Houses and the

         Welcome Back Center.

Freedom Houses provide former offenders with housing

options that meet their financial and social needs and place

them in a healthy setting in order to ease their transition into

        society.

The Welcome Back Center is a safe haven and resource

center that assists former offenders with their reentry

        needs, in one central location.
